A driver was killed following an overpass strike on I-70 in Ohio on Thursday morning.
The overpass strike occurred around 2:20 a.m. on August 1 in Clay Township, Ohio.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 50 year old Carson McKee was operating a Mack dump truck on I-70 at mile marker 24 as part of an active roadwork operation.
Troopers say that McKee had just delivered a load of asphalt to the site.
After delivering the asphalt, he reportedly failed to lower the dump bed while traveling east on I-70 and struck the SR 49 overpass.
McKee was ejected from the dump truck. He died at the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
All lanes of eastbound I-70 have since reopened.
