One driver is dead and another is injured after a serious wreck on Interstate 20 in South Carolina on Monday.
The accident happened on June 17th in Columbia, South Carolina on I-20 near mile marker 94 between the rest area and the Wateree River bridge.
According to News 19, two tractor trailers were heading east on I-20 when one slowed for stopped traffic. The first rig was then struck from behind by a second semi truck, seriously damaging at least one tractor trailer and spilling a load of lumber.
The truck driver in the first rig was transported to a nearby hospital. The driver of the second truck died in the wreck.
The incident forced the closure of I-20 and detoured vehicles off of the highway at the 92 mile marker exit before directing them to Highway 601, Highway 521, and back to I-20.
