Driver in intentional crash with DPS building indicted for murder

Published:

The truck driver who intentionally crashed into a Texas Department of Public Safety building in April was indicted earlier this month.

The accident happened on April 12th in Brehnam, Texas. Two people were killed. 41-year-old truck driver Clenard Parker was indicted last week, July 9th, on multiple charges.

According to KAGS TV, Parker was indicted on two counts of capital murder, three counts of aggravated assault, evading arrest, criminal mischief, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

As of July 15th, the DPS office damaged in the incident has opened a temporary drivers license office at the Blinn College Brehnam Student Center.

“I am grateful to the Texas Department of Public Safety and Blinn College for stepping up to create a temporary driver license office in Washington County,” said state Senator Lois Kolkhorst to KGAS TV. “This means residents will now have a convenient location to access services from DPS for driver license renewals and other ID services. A local collaboration like this is a shining example of government working together to deliver services until a permanent DPS location is operational.”
