Driver’s sudden stop causes three rig pile-up

One truck driver’s sudden stop created a three rig pile-up crash in a Louisiana construction zone on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened on April 10th in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana on Highway 90 south of LA-318.

According to WBRZ, a semi truck was traveling on US 90 westbound through a construction zone when the driver braked suddenly, causing a second tractor trailer to crash into the back of the first. A third semi truck then rear ended the second rig, causing a three rig pile-up

Police say that all three trucks sustained damage in the wreck, but only the third truck was seriously damaged. The driver of the third rig was also the only driver injured. The extent of his injuries is not known.

As of 2 p.m. CST, traffic was still being diverted onto LA-83, to LA-182, to LA-318. Further details about the crash have not been released.
