Dust storm triggers 23 vehicle pileup on New Mexico interstate

More than a dozen people were hospitalized following a 23 vehicle pileup on a New Mexico interstate on Wednesday afternoon.

The pileup occurred around 3 p.m. on June 19 near Alogodones in Sandoval County, New Mexico.

Authorities say that 23 vehicles were involved in a pileup crash on northbound I-25 at mile marker 258.

The crash happened during a severe dust storm that resulted in reduced visibility.

Eighteen people were hospitalized with injuries following the pileup crash.

I-25 was closed in both directions for several hours for investigation and cleanup.
