Electric cars spark fire on loaded car hauler

Two electric cars caught fire on a loaded car hauler in Texas on Thursday morning. 

The incident occurred on July 25th on Interstate 10 east and Copia in el Paso, Texas. 

According to ABC 7, fire crews were able to respond quickly to the electric cars on the commercial vehicle’s trailer and contain the fire quickly. 

First responders then ensured that the lithium batteries on the cars were safe to move before removing them from the scene. 

The incident and cleanup stopped traffic in the area for several areas. Traffic flow has since resumed. No further information has been released.
