Family blessed by local truck dealer after their rig was stolen from truck stop

A family in Houston was blessed by a local truck dealer who just wanted to help after their new truck was stolen from a nearby truck stop.

Truck driver Casey Jordan, a father of three, had just used his family’s entire $45,000 worth of savings to buy a new semi truck when it was stolen from the TA Express just off the South Freeway and Almeda Genoa Road in Houston, Texas. The incident was caught on surveillance camera, but the police have still not caught the suspect, and the family was left without a way to make a living.

“They [my family] entrusted me to use everything we had to buy this truck,” said Carey. “I bought this new truck purchase. I had a job lined up. I decided to park here.”

“When I [came back four days later and] saw my spot, I saw another truck, I said ‘Babe, where is my truck?'” Carey said. “When I saw that video, that was it, that was my investment, that was my means of providing for my family that was gone.”

When Peter Montes, the owner of PM Fleets in Houston, saw KHOU11’s reporting on the theft, he decided he wanted to help the Jordan family before the holidays, so he surprised the family with a new semi truck for free. Montes called up Casey and told him to come by his truck dealership on Saturday, November 23rd, and that’s when he presented the family with their new semi truck.

“When you showed me that truck on Facetime, my heart dropped,” said Jordan. “I’m so appreciative. We’ve been praying and praying and the fact you’re able to give us this, I don’t even know how to accept it.”

Montes just says he wants good people to have a chance, and he’s happy to help.

“Evil will not win,” Montes said to Casey. “Keep us in your prayers.”
