Father and son truckers survive tornado that made their rig “roll and roll”

A father and son co-driving team survived a tornado that caused their rig to roll over and over.

Boris Melnov says that he and his father were driving home ot Texas on the Florida Turnpike after dropping off water in Boynton Beach, Florida on October 9th when they both noticed a sudden change in the weather.

“We started to see the leaves starting to hit the truck and I told my father that I feel like a vacuum in my ears, and at the same moment, the truck started to roll over,” Melnov said to WPTV. “And I thought it was going to be one flip, but it started to roll and roll again.”

Melnov and his father were both hurt in the crash – Boris suffered serious cuts all over his upper body and his father sustained head injuries.

“I have staples here, and I have stitches over here. Today, I find out there might be something here. We did a scan. They stitched my eye and did the scan and found some glass inside. We need to open it and then stitch it again. Little cuts here and there,” Boris explained.

Boris has since been released from the hospital, but his father was kept for observation due to the nature of head injuries. Boris says both men are just happy to be alive. A video of their interview can be seen here.
