Five semis and a box truck crash in fatal chain reaction

The driver of a box truck is dead after a series of crashes involving five semi trucks. 

The accident happened early on Tuesday morning, November 19th at 2:24 a.m. on US Highway 77 near Henderson Lane in Refugio County, Texas. 

According to South Texas News, a tractor trailer crashed into three car haulers on Highway 77. The tractor trailer then veered off the roadway and got stuck on nearby railroad tracks. 

The accident halted southbound traffic, causing a 2018 Nissan box truck driven by 31-year-old Michael Ngo to crash into the back of a stopped tractor trailer driven by 38-year-old Alberto Mata. 

Ngo was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were sustained in the accidents. 

The roadway was shut down for investigation and cleanup of the crashes until 7 a.m. on November 20th.
