Fleeing trucker fatally shot by pursuing motorist on Louisiana interstate, police say

Police are investigating after a trucker was shot to death along a Louisiana interstate on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on April 23 on I-20 near a Love’s truck stop in Greenwood, Louisiana.

According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the early investigation indicates that a truck driver and an SUV driver were involved in an argument on the I-20 westbound onramp at Exit 3.

Both the truck driver and SUV exited their vehicles, and then the SUV driver reportedly fired shots at the truck driver. The truck driver attempted to flee on foot towards the interstate, but police say the SUV driver followed and shot the truck driver in the head, according to KTBS.

The truck driver died at the scene.

The SUV driver fled the scene, possibly heading west into Texas.

Police believe that the suspect is driving a dark colored Acura.

KSLA reports that police are obtaining dash cam video from witness truck drivers.

This is a developing story.
