Florida cops need help finding big rig after homicide victim found in field

Published:

The Fort Myers Police Department (FMPD) is asking for public help in locating a big rig that could be connected to a homicide.

On Thursday, February 1, the FMPD put out a call for information on the death of Aubrey Byron Carter.

Police say that Carter’s body was found just before 1:30 p.m. on January 27 in a vacant field located at 1500 Markland Avenue in Fort Meyers, Florida.

“We are seeking further information regarding the pictured semi (tractor trailer) that was captured on surveillance driving away from the area where Carter was located. Distinct characteristics are the faded emblem on the side of the truck says “Henderson Trucking…Pride through Performance” and the number 53 is displayed on the upper right corner of the box trailer,” FMPD said.

FMPD is investigating the death of Carter as a homicide.

Police say that there is no risk to the community and that this is an isolated incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call FMPD at 239-321-7700.
