Thousands of gallons of milk flooded a Utah highway after a tanker crash on Interstate 80 over the weekend.
The accident happened on Saturday afternoon, May 18th on I-80 near mile marker 160 in Coalville, Utah.
According to KUTV, the truck driver had to be extricated from the overturned tanker truck before being transported to a trauma center at a nearby hospital. The truck driver’s current condition is not known.
Officials say that approximately 5,000 gallons of milk were spilled in the crash. Summit County firefighters and the Summit County Health Department coordinated the cleanup of the gallons of milk.
I-80 was shut down during cleanup, but all lanes were reopened by about 2:10 p.m. No further information has been released.
