A large piece of equipment was knocked off of a semi truck and smashed into a car in North Carolina on Wednesday.
The accident happened on June 12th in Burke County, North Carolina.
According to WSOCTV, a semi truck hauling a large scrap furnace was traveling on Old NC 10 when the oversize load struck the Interstate 40 bridge. The force of the impact knocked the furnace off of the trailer and caused it to slam into a nearby car.
The incident seriously damaged the car and injured the motorist. The motorist was transported to a nearby hospital, but has already been released, reported Queen City News.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation has plans to inspect the bridge to ensure it is not damaged.
