Oregon park officials have issued an emergency road closure order lasting through spring following a semi truck rollover crash in Willamette National Forest.
The crash occurred on December 14, 2024, on Forest Service Road (FSR) 11, also known as Quartzville Road, according to the U.S. Forest Service – Willamette National Forest.
Officials say that “a semi-truck and trailer carrying a shipment of pesticides rolled over near milepost 32 on a sharp turn on FSR 11 near Minniece Creek, which is a tributary of Quartzville Creek.”
No injuries were reported.
The truck was hauling 42,000 pounds of Ortho Bug-Geta Snail & Slug Killer2, according to Sweet Home News. No spill occurred following the crash.
According to the Salem Statesman Journal, the truck driver entered FSR 11 after using Google Maps while trying to re-route off U.S. Highway 20.
The U.S. Forest Service says that a multi-agency effort is underway to remove the truck.
