Only minor injuries were reported after a 10 vehicle crash involving two tractor trailers on Interstate 459 on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened on October 16th in Jefferson County, Alabama at around 3 p.m. on I-459.
According to WBRC, a tractor trailer was heading south on I-459 when it collided with two other vehicles, sending it veering into the median and into the northbound lanes of traffic, where it hit another semi truck.
The driver of the first semi truck had to be extricated from his wrecked cab. He was then transported to the hospital in stable condition. Three other people also sustained minor injuries in the wreck. Only one of those three was taken to a hospital, reported WVTM13.
Some diesel was spilled in the accident, leading to an extensive cleanup. The roadway was reopened just before 9 p.m. that evening. No further information has been released.
