Improperly permitted trucker strikes bridge with oversize load

A truck driver was cited Wednesday night after hitting a bridge with an oversize load that ended up on the roadway. 

The accident happened on Wednesday night, November 13th in Mansfield, Ohio at about 5:13 p.m. 

According to WMFD News, 50-year-old truck driver Andrey Mikhay of Florida hit the Reed Road bridge on westbound US Highway 30. The force of the impact dislodged the large metal container from his trailer. 

The incident forced the closure of the bridge as ODOT inspected it for damage. 

Investigation of the incident revealed that Mikhay was not permitted properly, and was not authorized to haul the load in the dark. He was cited for the incident.
