Iowa State Patrol nabs truck driver for no chain equipment haul

Published:

The Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit is reminding the trucking community to secure their loads after encountering an unsafe equipment haul.

On Monday, November 25, the Iowa State Patrol took to social media to call out a cargo securement violation that a trooper recently encountered.

“Cargo securement is important! Choosing to not secure your cargo will lead to being placed out of service and likely lead to citations. We promise, securing your cargo takes less time than a traffic stop and inspection,” troopers said.

Over 150 people sounded off in the comment section about the cargo securement fail. See what they said below.

  • “No officer he doesn’t need chains, he’s got the magnets on!”
  • “They got those Bluetooth tie downs lmao.”
  • “That stuff falling off and killing people is worth what 15 minutes to tie down. You don’t have a pocket book big enough to cover that.”
  • “Time is money and what you are seeing is the quick delivery method.”
  • “All seriousness, stunts like this make it harder and more expensive on the ones who follow the law/rules.”
