Iowa troopers spot heavy equipment haul with ‘no form of securement’

The Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit (ISPCMVU) called out a trucker for hauling a crane without proper load securement.

On August 5, Iowa troopers took to social media to detail a recent traffic stop:

Another traffic stop one of our Troopers had the other day. Not only was the trailer covered in debris that routinely damages vehicles and windshields, there was no form of securement on the machine. Taking an extra minute to clean up a trailer and secure cargo can save everyone a lot of headaches!

Social media users took a moment to comment on the lack of load securement:

Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit you know that extra strength fishing line tensil you can’t see. But seriously, this was just absolute negligence no matter how far he/she was going,” said one commenter.

“You mean gravity doesn’t suffice for securement?” another person quipped.

“That driver had those bluetooth binders!” said a Facebook user.
