Kansas Sheriff shouts out veteran trucker for ‘pumping iron’ in the parking lot

The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) out of Alma, Kansas, called a semi truck driver and military veteran an “awesome American” after watching him perform a free weight and cardio routine in a parking lot.

On September 18, WCSO took to social media to share the inspiring story of Texas-based trucker and military veteran Kenneth Moore and his commitment to over-the-road fitness. Moore was caught by WCSO lifting weights and doing laps around his semi truck in the parking lot. Moore’s workout routine inspired WCSO to spark up a conversation to learn more about the Oakley Transport driver’s life and how he stays fit despite the challenges of the trucking lifestyle.

The Facebook post garnered 1.2K likes in less than 24 hours, and dozens of people commented to share messages of appreciation for Moore and for WCSO for recognizing him.

See what WCSO had to say about Moore below:

AWESOME AMERICAN ALERT!!

So I’m eating a burrito and writing reports parked in the Flint Hills Plaza North Lot & I see this dude running laps & it’s like…alright this man is getting in a workout, that’s awesome! Halfway through my burrito this dude then PULLS OUT FREE WEIGHTS FROM HIS TRUCK & STARTS PUMPING IRON!!!

HE’S DOING SETS OF BICEP CURLS & STANDING MILITARY PRESSES & THEN AS IF THAT’S NOT BADA$$ ENOUGH…THE DUDE STARTS DOING LAPS ROUND HIS BIG RIG CARRING THE WEIGHTS!!! (Begin Rocky Fight Montage Music )

I, NEEDED to meet this random hero & was DELIGHTED to have a wonderful conversation with the great & powerful Mr. Kenneth Moore who originally hails from Slidell Louisiana! Kenneth served in the Gulf War in the United States Navy & has been a commercial truck driver for over 30 years. He & his lovely bride currently reside in Texas.

Even at 50+ years young & on the road as a long hauler KEN IS STAYING TOUGH & STRONG. HELL, YEAH. Ken is a PHENOMENAL INSPIRATION to me as a Marine & lifelong endurance athlete. This Kansas Peace Officer was absolutely honored to meet you Ken. Thank you for bringing that realness & being an awesome American!! STAY HARD

I hope you enjoy the San Pellegrino good Sir!! Safe travels Mr. Moore!

These type of Men & Women ARE what makes our nation… POSSIBLE
