A section of Interstate 80 has been shut down in northern New Jersey after a sinkhole opened up on the shoulder.
The sinkhole was first noticed on Thursday morning, December 26th in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near Wharton, New Jersey.
According to AP News, crews spent Thursday morning evaluating the sinkhole along the right shoulder of the interstate, but a timeline for repairs has not been determined.
Traffic is currently being detoured off of the interstate as the New Jersey Department of Transportation evaluates the situation.
No further information has been released.
