Man faces murder charge in shooting death of truck driver on I-20 in Louisiana

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) has identified and issued a warrant for a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a semi truck driver in April 2024.

Mississippi resident Amanvir Singh, 34, has been arrested on a second degree murder charge in the death of California-based truck driver Gurpreet Singh Judge, 36.

Singh has been arrested, and CPSO is working with law enforcement in Jackson, Mississippi, to extradite him to Louisiana.

Judge was fatally shot around 10:15 a.m. on April 23 on an I-20 on-ramp in Greenwood, Louisiana.

Local outlet KTBS reports that dash cam video from the scene showed that there was a roadway altercation between Judge in his semi truck and a suspect alleged to be Singh in a dark colored SUV that led both drivers to pull off the road. Judge reportedly attempted to strike Singh with a flashlight, but then tried to flee on foot back towards I-20 when he saw Singh had a gun. Singh allegedly fired multiple times, killing Judge before fleeing the scene towards Texas.

The outlet further reports that Singh and Judge knew one another prior to the shooting.

The incident remains under investigation.
