Massachusetts police charged a man in connection with a string of commercial vehicle break-ins and thefts.
Daniel Pedro, 47, has been arrested and accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools and air compressors during a string of commercial vehicle break-ins in New Bedford, Massachusetts. In each case, the windows of the commercial vehicles were broken out late at night or early in the morning.
Pedro has been charged with the following crimes, according to the City of New Bedford Police Department:
Police say that when Pedro was arrested on July 10, he was in possession of numerous tools, including a Husky Air compressor, Milwaukee toolbox, and Rigid Shop Vac in his truck.
Police say Pedro was previously convicted on 13 charges of breaking and entering.
“With such an extensive history of victimizing hard-working citizens, it appears as though incarceration is the only option for this career criminal. My thanks to the court for setting a $30k bail, and to DA Tom Quinn’s Office for their continued diligence as they proceed forward with this case,” said New Bedford Police Department Chief Paul Oliveira. “I’d also like to acknowledge the hard work of Det. Matthew Sylvia and our Detective Division.”
