A man was sentenced to federal prison on charges related to the theft of multiple items from a parked semi truck in Memphis in 2022.
Memphis resident Andre Treadwell, 32, was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to possession of stolen goods and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, according to a May 7 release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee.
At 3 a.m. on May 5, 2022, Memphis police were flagged down by a truck driver and his wife who said that their trailer had been burglarized while they parked. The truck driver told police that they felt movement in the trailer, and when they went to investigate, a shot was fired.
The truck driver reported that at least six DuroMax Dual Fuel generators had been stolen from the trailer.
Police were able to track the generators to Treadwell’s residence.
There, they found five of the generators as well as “a pair of bolt cutters, a Palmetto State Armory AR-15 rifle, various live rounds of ammunition, and several bottles of Jimador Tequila that were reported stolen from an earlier shipment.”
The case was investigated by the Memphis Police Department and the Memphis Cargo Theft Task Force.
