Motive unclear after two men shoot trucker sitting in his cab on the West Side

A man was shot while sitting in his semi truck cab in West Side Chicago on Wednesday morning. 

The incident occurred on June 26th at about 1:10 a.m. in the 4400 block of West Fifth Avenue. 

According to ABC 7, two men approached the parked commercial vehicle as the driver sat inside. The men then opened the door and fired multiple shots at the trucker before running away. 

The 69-year-old driver was hit in the leg and abdomen during the encounter, and was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. 

Investigators say that the motive behind the shooting is still unclear and the incident is still under investigation.
