Motorist did not pull over for traffic stop because he was “frightened by tractor trailers”

A man caught speeding on a Connecticut highway says he didn’t pull over for police because he was “frightened by tractor trailers” driving all around him.

The incident happened on Friday morning, December 13th on Interstate 91 in Westerfield, Connecticut.

According to KGNS News, a patrolling officer clocked 31-year-old motorist Javier Enrique Guadalupe going more than 100 mph in a 55 mph zone and attempted to pull him over, but he would not stop. Officers then halted the pursuit “in the interest of public safety.”

Troopers were able to contact the registered owner of the car, who provided them with Guadalupe’s address. Guadalupe then admitted to driving the car, and told officers that he did not stop because he had never been pulled over before and was nervous around all of the commercial vehicles on the highway.

arrested and charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under suspension, speeding, reckless driving and disobeying the signal of an officer. He has since been released on $10,000 bond and is due in court on December 27th.
