Motorist runs away from wreck, leaving semi truck covered in flour

A hit and run accident left a semi truck covered in flour on a highway in Nashville early on Friday morning. 

The accident happened on May 10th on eastbound Interstate 40 at around 5 a.m. near mile marker 193 between the Newsome Station and McCrory Lane exits. 

According to WFLA 8, a red pickup truck collided with the semi truck hauling flour, causing the semi truck to overturn onto the median. The truck driver was trapped inside of his truck cab and the trailer was ripped open, spilling a load of flour all over the roadway. 

The pickup truck was also damaged in the incident, and the motorist fled the scene on foot. 

The trucker was extricated from his semi truck covered in flour and sustained non life threatening injuries. 

The incident is still under investigation.
