Motorist shoots at side-by-side truckers on I-94

A motorist reportedly shot at a pair of truck drivers traveling side-by-side on Interstate 94 in Michigan last week.

The incident happened on Wednesday, June 12th at around 9:30 p.m. near Battle Creek, Michigan.

According to MLive, both truck drivers were heading east on I-94 near mile marker 94 when an older, black, standard cab pickup truck passed the pair of commercial vehicles on the right shoulder. Once passed the rigs, the motorist reportedly stuck his arm out of the pickup window with a gun in hand.

Both truckers ducked in response to seeing the gun, and both claim to have heard at least one shot fired. Both drivers then looked up and saw the pickup truck driving away east on I-94.

Neither trucker was hurt in the incident, and no damage was found on their vehicles.

Police believe the event to be an isolated incident, but are asking for help in identifying the suspect. The pickup was described as possibly a Chevrolet Silverado or a GMC Sierra. Anyone with information on the incident or suspect is asked to contact the Battle Creek Police Department 269-966-3322 or anonymously through Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
