Motorist stopped for dog hit by one semi truck after another in chain reaction wreck

A crash involving four tractor trailers and a stopped car sent three people to the hospital in Texas on Friday morning. 

The accident happened on the morning of October 18th in Washington County, Texas on Highway 290 at about 8:30 a.m. 

According to KBTX, an eastbound car stopped in the middle of a lane of traffic for a dog in the roadway. The car was then hit by a semi truck traveling behind his, causing a wreck with three other tractor trailers. 

No one was killed in the wreck, but three people were transported to a hospital with minor injuries. 

The accident shut down a portion of Highway 290 for cleanup of spilled diesel and a load of rocks. It is unclear if the dog was hurt in the chain reaction crash. No further information has been released.
