The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) is actively seeking a semi truck and driver believed to have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision Thursday.
At 8:40 p.m. on August 1, a 911 caller reported a fatality on I-80 at mile marker 105, near Big Springs, Nebraska.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Dennis Hall, 72, of California, deceased on the shoulder near a Lincoln Town Car with a flat tire.
NSP believes that Hall was changing the tire when he was struck by a passing vehicle.
Witnesses told police they saw a vehicle leaving the scene.
Based on “evidence located at the scene,” NSP believes the vehicle involved was a semi truck, but they do not have a suspect vehicle description.
“Troopers searched at numerous truck parking locations for a vehicle that may have been involved, but have not been able to locate it at this point. Anyone with information about this incident, or anyone who observes a semi with front-end damage is asked to call the Nebraska State Patrol at 308-632-1211,” NSP stated.
NSP is seeking the public's help in locating a semi that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on I-80 last night.

The semi likely has front-end, passenger side damage after striking a motorist changing a tire near Big Springs. The semi was eastbound. If you have info, call… pic.twitter.com/vnKvFk83as
