Ahead of a winter weather storm, New York State transportation officials have banned some types of commercial vehicles from certain roadways on Tuesday.
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) issued a commercial vehicle travel ban for “Empty Trucks/Trailers and all Tandem Trucks” on certain routes throughout Western New York, Central New York, and the North Country.
The travel ban was issued due to a multi-hazard storm and extreme high winds in excess of 70 m.p.h.

- Western NY: Beginning @ 10 a.m. (1/9): Buffalo Skyway (NY 5), US 219, NY 400, I-190 (Niagara County: North Grand Island Bridge to Lewiston/Queenston Bridge), I-290, I-990 Kensington Expressway (NY 33), & I-86 (Chautauqua/ Cattaraugus CO only)
- Central NY/North Country: Beginning @ 12 p.m. (1/9): I-81 between I-90 (Syracuse) & Exit 49 (Jefferson CO)
