A police officer fell off of an overpass in Oklahoma while directing traffic around a semi truck crash on Friday morning.
The incident occurred on December 13th near Goldsby, Oklahoma on southbound Intestate 35.
According to KOCO News, a semi truck struck the median on I-35, causing traffic backups as crews worked to clear the wreckage and clean a fuel spill.
Traffic was being diverted onto the State Highway 9W ramp and back on to the on-ramp for I-35 south. A Lighthorse Police Department officer helping with traffic control at some point fell 6-8 feet off of the bridge he was working on. He was injured, but his condition was not considered serious.
No other injuries were reported in the accident. As of 8:40 a.m. CST, officials were warning drivers to avoid the area because I-35 south was still shut down. Traffic is being allowed to pass on the shoulder to exit the Interstate, but the incident is not expected to be cleared for quite some time.
