One dead in seven vehicle pileup involving oversized load on Washington bridge

Published:

Washington State Police (WSP) are investigating a pileup crash involving a truck hauling a manufactured home.

The crash occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, August 22, on the Camas Slough Bridge carrying State Route 14 in Camas, Washington.

Officials say that a truck hauling an oversized load got stuck on the bridge, completely blocking the westbound lane.

“A vehicle attempted to make a U-turn that was stuck behind the oversized load, causing a 7 vehicle crash,” said WSP Trooper Will Finn.

One person died and two others were transported to hospitals.

State Route 14 was closed for hours on Thursday, but all lanes have now reopened.

The incident is still under investigation.
