One dead, one hurt, in shooting at Tennessee truck stop
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) is investigating a fatal late night shooting at a truck stop.
The shooting took place late on Thursday, May 23, at a Love’s truck stop located on Lamar Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee.
MPD arrived at the scene just before midnight.
Officers located a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim arrived at a hospital by private vehicle suffering from non-critical injuries.
MPD has a person in custody in connection with the shootings.
The incident is under investigation.
This is at least the second recent fatal shooting at this Love’s location. In March 2024, a man died at the scene after he was shot at the truck stop location.
