Pennsylvania man arrested for shooting at semi truck’s windshield was angry about Jake brakes, per report

Police in Altoona, Pennsylvania, arrested and charged a man after he allegedly opened fire on a passing semi truck.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on December 17, the Altoona Police Department (APD) responded to a reported shooting at 31st Street and Spruce Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the windshield of a passing semi truck had been shot from a nearby residence.

According to charging documents obtained by WTAJ, police determined that if the bullet had gone all the way through the truck’s windshield, it would have struck the driver in the head.

The Altoona Police Tactical Response Team executed a search warrant as well as a surround and call-out operation at the residence.

APD investigators say that the shooter was identified as Michael Joseph Servello, 53.

Police seized 6 firearms along with 1.3 pounds of marijuana with packaging material while executing the search warrant.

Servello was issued several charges, including Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Risking a Catastrophe, PWID, and lesser associated offenses.

WTAJ reported that Servello complained to both police and the city council numerous times about semi trucks using Jake brakes within the community.
