Pickup driver dead after striking semi parked on shoulder of Maryland interstate

A motorist was killed in a fiery crash in Belcamp, Maryland, on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on November 12 on northbound I-95 near mile marker 82.

Police say that a semi truck was parked on the right shoulder of the interstate when a pickup struck the parked truck, sparking a large vehicle fire.

The pickup driver did not survive.

No other injuries were reported.

The incident shut down northbound I-95 lanes for hours, but the interstate fully reopened by 1:30 p.m.

Maryland State Police are investigating the crash.
