Police searching for truck stop shooters who killed clerk

Published:

Police are on the hunt for two men who shot a truck stop clerk in Texas early on Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred on July 28th at the Gator Stop #3 off I-35 and Ross Rd., north of Elm Mott in McLennan County, Texas at around 5:20 a.m.

“The two guys, they came with a gun in the morning, around 5:20… that’s what the cops said,” said Stephen Sunny, a co-worker of the man who was shot. “And Dipak [the victim] was standing by the counter, on the register. So he tried to run, but he couldn’t make it, they already started shooting.”

Sunny says he watched the security footage of the incident, where he saw 30-year-old Dipak Oli “trying to… with his hands, like he was trying to say don’t shoot,” Sunny said. “He turned around and they start shooting,” reported KWTX.

Oli’s family, including his wife and five-year-old daughter, has been notified of the tragic incident.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office.
