Rockslide delays cleanup of I-70 semi wreck

Published:

A rockslide on Highway 40 has diverted resources away from the planned cleanup of a serious semi truck wreck on Interstate 70.

The September 17th semi truck wreck temporarily closed I-70 near Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The interstate was soon reopened with plans to shut it down again on Wednesday to complete cleanup of the incident.

According to CBS News, Cleanup of the tractor trailer wreck was delayed on Wednesday morning due to a rockslide that closed both directions of Highway 40, forcing CDOT to divert crews to the serious blockage and leave cleanup of the truck wreck for a later time.

CDOT has not released a new scheduled time for the cleanup of the tractor trailer wreck, which spilled oil, plastic crates, and wooden pallets and destroyed over 25 feet of guardrail.
