Sedan driver survives crash with farming tractor, CHP says

Published:

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is asking drivers to pay extra attention to the road after a car vs. tractor crash that occurred last week.

The crash occurred in Modesto, California, on November 21.

Troopers say that the 28 year old driver of a white sedan was traveling on McHenry Avenue in Modesto when the the car collided with a farming tractor implement.

Troopers said that the tractor was operating in the far right lane at a slow speed with rear lights activated.

The motorist was traveling at speeds of about 50 m.p.h. and she only applied the brakes a moment before the sedan struck the tractor, according to the Modesto Bee.

The crash caused major damage to the sedan, but the motorist suffered only minor injuries. She was hospitalized but is expected to fully recover.

“The driver of this sedan said, in essence, they never saw the tractor and its implement. The California Highway Patrol would like to remind all motorists to be aware of their surroundings, always directing your eyes down the road,” said CHP – Modesto.
