Semi truck explosion sends seven firefighters to hospital

A semi truck explosion sent seven firefighters to the hospital near Los Angeles on Thursday morning. 

The incident occurred on February 15th  just before 7 a.m. at 1120 N. Alameda Street near Henry Ford Avenue in Los Angeles, California – an industrial area near the Port of Los Angeles and west of Long Beach. 

According to Press Enterprise, the firefighters were injured when a semi truck hauling pressurized cylinders caught fire and exploded. The explosion occurred six minutes after the firefighters arrived at the scene to fight the truck fire. 

At least two of the seven injured firefighters are in critical condition, reported CNN

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
