Officials are investigating a major vehicle fire that occurred at a truck stop in Michigan City, Indiana, early Sunday morning.

The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office (LPCSO) and multiple fire fighting agencies were dispatched to Gallops Truck Stop in Michigan City around 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 24, for a reported vehicle fire.

Upon arrival LPCSO Deputy Kasz Billings found three semi trucks full engulfed by flames.

The burning trucks were “in close proximity to fuel pumps and the store,” firefighters said.

“By the time the fire was extinguished, six semi-tractors had caught fire, four of which were completely destroyed,” police said.

No one was injured, according to the Coolspring Volunteer Fire Department Inc.

The fire was knocked down within an hour.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
