Small trucking company suspended after first overpass strike

A small fleet of commercial vehicles has been suspended after one of the semi trucks struck an overpass in BC. 

The accident happened early on Tuesday, July 16th on Highway 1 at the CP Rail overpass in Langley, BC, Canada. 

According to Maple Ridge News, SGD Transport Ltd. must pull its seven semi trucks off the road while the B.C. Ministry of Transportation conducts an investigation into the overpass strike. The outcome of the investigation will determine whether the company can resume operations. 

The recent incident was the company’s first and only overpass strike according to the ministry’s crash report history. 

Five of the 19 overpass strikes in BC so far this year have occurred in Langley.
