Three dead after big rig crossed median into oncoming traffic on I-81, PA authorities say

Three people lost their lives in a crash on I-81 in Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. on July 14 near Silver Spring Township, Pennsylvania.

According to the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office, a semi truck traveling north on I-81 crossed the median into the southbound lanes of traffic, striking a minivan and an SUV.

Two people in the SUV, John Sheltman, 79, and Eileen Beck, 80, died at the scene.

The driver of the minivan, Lieu Nguyen, 49, also died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash is under investigation.
