Three dead in I-24 multi-vehicle crash after truck driver failed to slow for traffic, Kentucky troopers say

Kentucky State Police (KSP) are investigating a multiple fatality crash that occurred in Livingston County on Monday.

The crash occurred Monday afternoon on I-24 as traffic slowed in the westbound lanes near mile marker 32 for construction at the Tennessee River Bridge.

Trooper say that 24 year old New York-based truck driver Mansur Kholikov failed to slow his 2022 Kenworth truck with a 2011 Great Dane semi-trailer and collided with several other slowed vehicles, causing secondary collisions involving five other vehicles.

One of the passenger vehicles involved caught fire. The occupants of that vehicle, Saundra Dodd, 68, and two children, died at the scene.

Two people were airlifted from the scene for medical treatment. Others were transported to local hospitals.

Kholikov was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation by KSP.
