The Illinois Tollway kicked off the new year with increased toll rates for truck drivers but not passenger vehicle drivers.
Effective January 1, 2024, officials with the Illinois Tollway increased truck/trailer tolls along the 294-mile Tollway system.
Officials say that the truck toll increase will allow them to rebuild, improve and expand the Tollway system to make travel more reliable and more efficient.
There is no toll increase for passenger vehicles. Officials have not increased the passenger vehicle toll rate since 2012.
The toll rates are dependent on time of day and the number of axles on the vehicle.
The Illinois Tollway system includes the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88), the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355), the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90), the Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294/I-80), and the Illinois Route 390 Tollway.
