Multiple state police agencies will join forces for a high-visibility traffic enforcement campaign on a major truck traffic corridor this weekend.
The traffic blitz will begin on Friday, October 4 at midnight and will continue through Sunday, October 6 at 11:59 p.m.
Troopers from the Indiana State Police, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol will take part in a targeted traffic enforcement detail on I-70.
Police will patrol the interstate looking for dangerous driving behaviors, including speeding, distracted driving, following too closely, aggressive driving, and impaired driving.
During a similar I-70 enforcement effort last fall, troopers issued 388 citations for speed, 31 for safety belt violations, and made five OVI arrests in Ohio alone.
The I-70 blitz is part of the larger 6-State Trooper Project, which during other enforcement activities includes the Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police and West Virginia State Police.
