Truck driver arrested for DUI after sideswiping cop making separate arrest

A truck driver was arrested in Texas early on Thursday morning after sideswiping a patrol car on the side of the road. 

The incident occurred on August 1st at 1:05 a.m. on Interstate 35 at mile marker 295 in Bell County, Texas. 

According to KWTX, a trooper was conducting a traffic stop on a motorist and made an arrest. As the trooper was sitting in the car with the person under arrest, a tractor trailer hit the left side of the patrol car and the car owned by the arrested person. 

The patrol car and Mercedes sustained minor damage in the incident. 51-year-old truck driver Isreal Resillas Olalde, or Mexico, was then placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated with an open container and Failure to slow down/move over. 

No injuries were reported. Olade was transported to the Bell County Jail. No further information has been released.
