A semi truck driver is facing charges after reportedly telling police that he drank a popular cinnamon-flavored whisky while operating on I-80 in Iowa on Thursday.
Virginia-based truck driver Scott Snyder, 58, has been charged with Operating While Under the Influence – 2nd Offense, according to KRCG.
Police initiated a traffic stop after a caller reported a semi truck driver operating recklessly on westbound I-80 in the Oxford, Iowa, area.
While talking to police, Snyder allegedly admitted to drinking Fireball whisky at lunch time and also said that he kept the bottle in the cab and drank from it while driving.
After a roadside sobriety test indicated impairment, a breath test showed a BAC of .149%.
A second test showed a BAC of .132%.
The federal legal blood alcohol limit for CDL holders is 0.04%.
