A truck driver managed to escape without injury after his truck caught fire near the Eisenhower Tunnel in Colorado.

The incident took place early Tuesday evening on westbound I-70 at mile marker 209 in Summit County, Colorado.

From Summit Fire & EMS:

“A semi-tractor/trailer coming down from the Eisenhower Tunnel early yesterday evening caught fire, but the driver managed to roll up the runaway truck ramp and escape safely. The driver tried to put out the fire with a couple of on-board extinguishers, but it had grown too quickly and even spread to some nearby vegetation.”
