Truck driver missing after waterlogged crash into a reservoir

Published:

A truck driver is still missing after a crash into a reservoir in Utah on Monday evening.

The Deer Creek Reservoir crash occurred along Highway 189 on May 20th in Wasatch County, Utah.

According to Fox 13, the tractor trailer was traveling south on Highway 189 when the driver lost control and jackknifed. The rig then struck a guardrail just before the crash into a reservoir. The cab was fully submerged in the water, and the partially submerged tanker loaded with propane sustained a leak.

Investigators say that the truck driver is still “unaccounted for,” as of 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Officials warn drivers to expect an “extended closure for recovery and hazmat” continuing into Tuesday morning.

Officials say they will not move the truck until they are able to locate the truck driver. The incident is still under investigation.
