Trucking Facebook community helps reunite driver with dog lost at Oklahoma Walmart

Published:

A lost dog story has a very happy ending thanks in part to “Facebook and the trucker community through CB and their community pages,” according to an Oklahoma animal shelter.

On June 19, the Purcell Animal Shelter shared a post seeking public help in locating a truck driver whose dog was picked up by someone else at an Oklahoma Walmart location.

“Looking for the trucker who was at Walmart this morning around 6:30 a.m. who was looking for his dog. Someone picked it up and brought it to the Purcell animal shelter so please if you know who the trucker was and you know how to reach him this little guy is missing you!” the shelter wrote.

The post was widely shared on trucking social media groups, and, according to the shelter, this was key to finding the truck driver and arranging a heart-warming reunion.

On June 25, the Purcell Animal Shelter posted a happy update:

“The walmart dog that we fondly named Trucker is back with his family. I want to thank everyone who shared and spread the word thru Facebook and the trucker community thru cb and their community pages that reached Trucker who’s actually name is Nacho all the way in Huston Texas. His family who was told the lady who found him was going to keep him never thought they would see him again so the reunion was a tear jerker and we couldn’t be happier that these 2 were united!!! We have the best community ever!”
